#YesOn1 Campaign
Alabama Act 2024-111 (Local Amendment 1) was developed jointly by State Senator Lance Bell, the Pell City Board of Education, the St. Clair County Board of Education, and the City of Pell City to correct 42-year-old representation issues on local boards of education.
Returning to an appointed board of education is the recommended solution to the taxation without representation problem for residents of the Pell City Attendance Zone, as it gives these residents the right to serve and govern the schools their children attend.
Changing the law so that only the voters who reside in the St. Clair County School District are eligible to vote for St. Clair County Superintendent and Board of Education will result in reliable and trustworthy election outcomes, with no outside influence.
This Amendment ensures fair and accurate representation for all St. Clair County residents, gives every resident a voice in their education system, and protects their rights as citizens.
